Most people only use essential oils for their scents which have relaxing and de-stressing properties. I love them for my soapmaking mostly and keeping off bugs here and there, but essential oils have thousands of other uses they could be taking advantage of. I recently learned that essential oils can help with everything from weight loss to cleaning. If you haven’t yet heard of all these benefits. I’m here to tell you how to use essential oils, so you too start to take advantage of these great benefits essential oils hold.
Many essential oils have anti-bacterial properties. Ageratum, peppermint, eucalyptus, geranium, lemongrass, patchouli, palmarosa, orange and citronella oils are just a few essential oils that are anti-bacterial. You can use these in different mixtures and scrubs with things such as dish soap, baking soda, hydrogen peroxide, or vinegar to make cleaners for just about anything around the house, even carpet deodorizers. You might want to read up on all the different oils because each is better for different things like lemon helps rid of soap and scum build-up whereas peppermint is best for just disinfecting. Also, you can just use them by themselves, adding 5 drops of lemon essential oil is great to wipe up the kitchen counters, not only does make everything smell great but it is killing all the bacteria on your counters.
Essential oils are AMAZING for your skin. You can and should start using them in your beauty and skin care routines. Here are just a few oils that are some of the best and how you should be using them. First off, lemon essential oil not only great for cleaning but also great for your skin because it has nourishing, cleansing, and purification properties. Use it as a face wash mixed with baking soda and honey for a refreshing acne fighting wash. Bergamot essential oil is great if you have oily skin, again make a simple face wash with honey and raw sugar. This will help your oily skin and also exfoliate making your skin glow. There are so many different washes, scrubs, etc. That you can make and you aren’t just limited to your face these washes can be used to replenish your whole body. Just read up more on whatever oil you are choosing to use, as some can hurt the skin.

I know it sounds crazy, especially if you are a person who hasn’t used essential oils for anything but aromatherapy, but this is no joke. Essential oils can help you lose weight in the healthiest way possible and also help rid your body of bad toxins while improving your digestive health. First and foremost, you need to know that there are some essential oils you CAN NOT ingest so be sure you read up on them. For example, one amazing oil to use for weight loss and digestive health is peppermint oil. Just add a couple drops into a glass of water and drink after a meal. Another great oil is grapefruit oil, however, this one should NOT be ingested. When used for aromatherapy, its properties can help boost your metabolism and curb your appetite.
