How to Make Fortune Cookies

04/20/16 | Recipes

how to make your own fortune cookies from home

The other day, I took a shot at creating my own takeout from home. I think I executed it flawlessly, but there was one challenge that I had to overcome to fully execute my plan – how to make fortune cookies! That’s when I learned how easy they are to make them and surprisingly use some pretty basic ingredients that I already had around the house.

Before you actually make the cookies, you’ll need to print out some custom fortunes. I made some fun ones for my husband and kids and couldn’t wait to see their faces when they opened them. Here were some examples:

[ezcol_1half]”You should clean your room every day.”[/ezcol_1half] [ezcol_1half_end]”Buying new shoes for your
wife will bring you good fortune.”[/ezcol_1half_end]

[ezcol_1half]”Always listen to your mother.”[/ezcol_1half] [ezcol_1half_end]”Always listen to your wife.”[/ezcol_1half_end]

[ezcol_1half]”Your wife thinks you’re hot.”[/ezcol_1half] [ezcol_1half_end]”Your mother thinks you’re awesome”[/ezcol_1half_end]

Here’s the actual recipe for how to make fortune cookies at home:

*A much simpler way to actually fold the cookies, especially if you’re doing multiples, is to use this Fortune Cookie Maker. It cuts the time down tremendously and ensures that you’ll have perfectly shaped cookies every time.

How neat. We get Chinese enough that I don’t have to make my own, but cool to know that I could if needed.

Such a creative idea. I love Fortune Cookies, and I think it would be such a fun idea to make them at home, and put your own fortune’s inside.

We just went out for Chinese food last night and the one thing everyone wanted to make sure they got was the fortune cookie. Now we can make our own.
