Meet Meagan and Emily…two 20-something year old employees of The Coca-Cola Company here in Atlanta. Three years ago, they came up with this cool idea to travel across country together chronicling their expedition through social media.
This week, The Coca-Cola Company kicked off its first ever Mobile Brand Publishing Initiative right here out of Atlanta, GA and I was there to witness it all!
Through this initiative, called JourneyxJourney, Meagan and Emily are sent off on a cross-country road trip across America to discover and capture how The Coca-Cola Company and its brands are linked to the local communities and cultural fabric of the United States and exploring the passions ingrained in the company’s DNA – such as innovation, food, sports, music and culture.
The two took off in this brand new 2017 Ford Escape and will be followed by what Coca-Cola calls its Mobile Brand Publishing Unit, a 40-foot motorhome equipped with production gear, cameras, filming drones and editing equipment.
Fans can follow along the road trip, offer suggestions, and even contribute to their music playlist at www.journeyxjourney.com or on social media via the #JourneyxJourney hashtag.
What a cool initiative. It will be interesting to see how Coke is part of different communities.
