5 Mommy Must-Haves for a Successful Morning Ritual

02/17/16 | Tips for Moms

Do you just love mornings? Well, if so, that makes ONE of us!

must haves for a successful morning ritual

I’m not ashamed to admit that I’m certainly not a morning person. While some moms have these naturally flawless mornings, wake up bright and bushy tailed and deliver perfectly ready for the world children to school each day, for the rest of us, this requires a more deliberate action plan. A successful morning ritual should help to rejuvenate your mind, body, and soul and prepare you for the day ahead.

Remember that disastrous morning I shared with you all a few months ago? Fortunately, I’ve come a little way since then. Check out below some of the things I’ve started incorporating into my mornings to help me start my day right.

7 {Mommy} must-haves for a successful morning ritual:

A second alarm clock

No, this is not necessarily to grant you a few extra zzz’s. Instead, my morning ritual requires me to actually wake up a few minutes earlier! I use that extra time as my “me” time to collect my thoughts, get my spirit right and plan my day. This way, when the second alarm clock goes off, that’s when I know it’s time to actually start getting ready.

A good morning read

Morning newspaper, your favorite blog, your Bible, or even your Facebook timeline. Getting in a good read each morning helps me get my mind working, catch up on current events, or just provides me with some good entertainment.

Daily to-do list

Yes, I do this every single day and it’s completely a necessary morning ritual to help me organize my day.

A morning workout routine

Now that I’m a work at home mom, I have the luxury of taking an early morning Kickboxing or Zumba class after the kids go to school. Even if your time is limited, check out these easy 5 minute workouts for moms.

A healthy breakfast (and maybe some strong coffee)

nature valley cereal with fruit

Last, but certainly not least, a hearty and healthy breakfast is essential. I’ve always been a fan of Nature Valley Honey Oat Bars and now I’m super excited about the new Nature Valley Clusters cereal. Whole-grain, protein-packed, and delicious, Nature Valley Cereal is the perfect complement to any morning ritual. , I love a simple and refreshing bowl of cereal with yogurt and fresh fruit before I start my day, and it’s just what I need to add some power to my day.
