What is Disney Springs?

(Todd Anderson, photographer)
Whenever we’re down in Orlando, Disney Springs is usually our favorite place to hang out, shop, and dine either with the kids or just the adults. We used to call it Downtown Disney back in the day, but it’s still the same really cool conglomerate across the water featuring over 150 boutique stores, restaurants, bars, and more.
As you guys know, I recently attended the 2018 Disney Social Media Moms Celebration and got an awesome behind the scenes look at what’s happening at the entire Walt Disney World Resort including Disney Springs. I had some fun at the expo with reps from some of our favorite stores at Disney Springs, including the Bibbity Boppity Boutique, Amorette’s Patisserie, and more. While I spent time at the Expo, my hubby took the kids with him to Disney Springs to do some shopping in the Marvel store for himself.
What’s New at Disney Springs?
With so many stores and attractions already at Disney Springs, it’s awesome to see that they continue to expand and offer more new and exciting experiences for visitors. These are just some of the newest attractions you will find on your next trip to Disney Springs!
Wine Bar George
Master Sommelier George Miliotes will bring his renowned wine expertise to Disney Springs at Walt Disney World Resort when his new venture, Wine Bar George, opens this spring. Wine Bar George will be the only Master Sommelier-led wine bar in Florida.
The Edison
The Edison has an industrial gothic style interior similar to that of which you would have seen in the 1920s electric power plant. The restaurant features very unmistakable sections such as: The Ember Parlour, Telegraph Lounge, The Patent Office, The Tesla Lounge, The Lab, The Radio Room and The Waterfront Patio. Here you will also see featured entertainment to help keep you entertained while you are dining. You can expect to find the classic American food here.
Anyone entering after 10:00pm must be above 21 and dressed in appropriate attire.
Terralina Crafted Italian
Disney Springs is soon to welcome Terralina Crafted Italian. There is no better way to enjoy authentic Italian home cooking than to enjoy your food while taking in the waterfront views at this cozy restaurant. You can choose to sit in one of several dining rooms, by the veranda bar, or the kitchen hearth.
Maria and Enzo’s Ristorante
Maria and Enzo’s has just opened their doors not too long ago. Here you will find a feeling reminiscent of the speakeasy days made to feel like you are seated within an airline terminal. Here you will find traditional Sicilian style dishes to satisfy everyone in the family. Plus, take the time to look around at some of the artifacts and maps that are on display.
Enzo’s Hideaway
Enzo’s Hideaway will be found in the rum runners tunnels that connect Maria’s and Enzo’s. Here you will find robust yet casual Romanian dishes and prohibition era cocktails being served.
Pizza Ponte
Next door to Maria and Enzo’s is where you will find Pizza Ponte. Pastries are the thing on the menu here but, you will also find some delicious sandwiches and pizza.
The Disney Corner
The Disney Corner made its debut in February of 2018. Here you will find anything your little princess desires. Anything from a new dress, accessories or even collectables to add to your souvenir loot. Just keep in mind that this little pop up boutique is only open for a limited time.
There are so many stores and restaurants still in the making at Disney Springs in Walt Disney World. This a must stop destination during your trip. You are sure to enjoy a wonderful meal (or two) and find some exciting souvenirs to bring back to your friends and family at home!
