My Real Deal Review of Landmark Resort at Myrtle Beach

05/01/17 | Travel

This past Spring Break vacation, we had the chance to experience Myrtle Beach as a family for the first time!  As you recall, a few years ago, my husband and I did Myrtle Beach without the kids and had a great time. With it being such a great place for families, I was excited to also give the kids the chance to experience it.

We stayed at the Landmark Resort which is a beachfront resort located on the south end of Ocean Blvd on the Myrtle Beach strip.  Like many of the hotels in Myrtle Beach, it is newly renovated and filled with great amenities, restaurants, and activities perfect for a family vacation, couples trip, or even a corporate retreat.

I learned that they recently implemented what they are calling the “Friendly Program” which challenges the staff to ensure that guests have the best experience possible. If you follow along the hashtag #happyguest on social media, you can check out some experiences shared by recent guests.  As always, I love to give you guys a full and honest review of my experience so you can see for yourself if it’s a great for you.

If you’re wondering if you can trust this or any of my reviews, be sure to start with this post on my honesty policy!

The ideal

Also deserving of praise are the dinner options at Latitudes restaurant!  After drooling over the dishes being devoured at our neighboring tables, I finally decided on the shrimp and grits and I still crave more. Really all of the dishes we tried were really tasty and of large portions.  I’d have to say it’s also a great value for the price.

Spacious rooms

Our room featured double beds, a pull out couch and a pull down bed which gave us more than enough room. The best feature of the rooms, however, was the double bathroom – 2 sinks and 2 toilets to be specific. This was a huge relief for those of us whose kids seem to always fight over the bathrooms.

Lots of amenities

While we fully intended on doing more exploring around the city, there was really not much need since the Resort had more than enough to keep our family occupied. Full sized indoor and outdoor pools, multiple hot tubs, lazy river, fitness center, arcade/ game room, laundromat, and more that I probably never even got to experience.
The pool and jacuzzi areas were plentiful, so overcrowding was not a big issue. Plus, the indoor pool options made it perfect for the u predictable weather that comes with this time of year.

Great restaurants

Again, we planned on venturing out to try various restaurants in the area, but we were quite pleased with the restaurants in the hotel.  The breakfast buffet at The Gazebo offered many options for my entire family and we also had the option to get something off of the menu if we craved an omelette or breakfast sandwich for example. I’d rarely call out any particular breakfast buffet item, but the waffles are definitely worthy of a shout out!

Pro tip: order the breakfast buffet with your reservation for a discount.

Convenient

The hotel was on the south end of Myrtle Beach, but still just a short drive away from the boardwalk and other Myrtle Beach attractions.  Again, however, we mostly appreciated the few steps we’d walk each morning to the beach.

The ordeal

In the interest of full disclosure and in the hopes that this might be improved upon in the near future, I wouldn’t quite rate the service as spectacular. There were a few promises made by the front desk that were just never followed up on.  Nothing super major, but still just some inconveniences that would have made our stay even better had they been resolved.  The staff was super friendly about everything and tried to be more accommodating, but I could tell their hands were just tied and chalked it up on the fact that they were just understaffed for the busy week of spring breakers.

The real deal

The Landmark Resort is a great and affordable option for families, couples, girls getaways, and more. I loved the amenities available on site and the convenience to all of the places I love to be (i.e. beach, good restaurants, etc.).  I’d definitely consider staying there again and would recommend it as an option for Myrtle Beach visitors.

If you’re planning a trip to Myrtle Beach this summer or anytime, be sure to check them out online at Landmark Resort.com. Also, if you’ve visited Landmark Resort in the past, please feel free to share your experience in the comments below!

Great review! This sounds like a nice place to stay in Myrtle Beach. Thank you for your complete honesty. It always seems like reviews never have anything bad to say, but we all know hotel experiences are rarely perfect. But it sounds like a very nice place to stay with a lot of amenities.

Spacious rooms are important when you have kids on vacation. It’s really going to give them enough space to run around and play. I think this is a great place to stay in, to be honest.

Myrtle Beach has so much to offer its visitors. I haven’t been there for a long time and I am so wanting to go back. The resort hotel you stayed is nice. With all those amenities and spacious rooms, I guess it should be the place to stay in Myrtle Beach

Looks like you all had a blast. I have a love-hate relationship with Myrtle Beach lol.. I got sun poisoning there one year so I hated that, but I love that it is one of my most relaxing vacation destinations.
