Disclosure: This post on buying a new mattress is inspired and sponsored by Underpriced Furniture. As always, all opinions are my own.
This past week, my husband and I decided it was about that time for some new furniture to update our home a bit, so we headed up to one of our favorite local furniture stores, Underpriced Furniture. Now, the original plan was to find a new kitchen table to replace what we have now, but you know how it is when you go shopping for one thing and end up finding 20 things you want too…
We found that since our last visit to Underpriced Furniture just a few months ago, their selection had grown even more. They carry brand new styles of furniture for every room in the home, including a huge kids’ furniture section. They continue to be one of the largest furniture showroom in the southeast with over 75,000 square feet of floor space, filled with layers of quality furniture that actually works within any budget. During my last visit, I fell head over heels over their Magnolia Home Collection by Joanna Gaines. This time, however, my attention was clearly drawn to their incredible mattress selection!
Underpriced Furniture has a pretty large part of the store dedicated to their mattress selection, all screaming, “Lay on Me!”. I was able to get the inside scoop from our new buddy Ed; one of their incredible staff members. He not only introduced me to their newest collection of what are called “Hybrid Mattresses” which are designed to keep your mattress from sinking , but also the Adjustable Power Beds that feature an adjustable base so you can raise both your head and feet up for a more comfortable experience.
As a “Chirowife”, I know that a good night’s sleep is a solution to just about everything; from relieving stress and releasing toxins, to even losing weight and more. A big part of getting a good night’s sleep is the mattress you’re sleeping on. Buying a mattress can be a big investment, so it’s super helpful to buy from a store that can make sure you’re not only knowledgeable about your purchase, but also and as comfortable as you can be while mattress shopping. With that said, here are 5 things to look for when buying a mattress…
5 things to consider when buying a new mattress
There are so many styles of mattresses to choose from, an overwhelming amount really. There’s memory foam, adjustable, sleep number, pillow top, and now these Hybrid Mattresses I learned about combine standard mattress coils for support and gel-memory foam for contour and pressure point releif. There are also many mattress styles that contain several different layers, each mixed and matched to help you find the ideal formula for you.
I also discovered the Adjustable Power Bed selection at Underpriced Furniture and am convinced that with my lifestyle, I need one of these in my life! Then after learning that these mattresses also have USB ports on the sides, it took a lot out of me not to make this my new workspace. Haha
Comfort and Support
Comfort is so important. (I know, duh…). That’s why when you’re out mattress shopping, you should always take the time to sit, lay, bounce, etc. on the mattresses. In addition to this, some mattresses contain a cooling element in which the foam works to draw heat from your body and disperse it out of the mattress for added comfort at night.
Yes folks, this is a biggie. Mattresses are such a huge investment and even though they are generally a purchase that last you for years, affordable is always better. As I’ve found with most furniture items in the store, Underpriced guarantees the lowest prices via their price match system. They also offer Same Day Delivery to many areas and a 365 night sleep guarantee if you purchase a mattress protector with your new mattress. (Tip: They offer same day delivery on in stock purchases made before 3pm). To top it all off, their non-commissioned sales staff offers a no-pressure buying experience you will love.
Something you definitely want to look for is a comfort guarantee or trial period. After all, buying a mattress is still a big investment and commitment, so you want to make sure you will love it for years to come. A trial period allows you to actually sleep on the mattress and then exchange it if you don’t like it.
Underpriced Furniture offers a whole year long trial process – yes 365 whole days! If you don’t love the mattress, you can return it for another! Simple enough right? You do need to purchase a mattress protector with your mattress to qualify, but this also protects your mattress warranty as well.
A warranty is another great way to save money and is an important factor to look for when buying a mattress. If something happens to the mattress you’re buying, like a spring pokes through the fabric or the adjustable mechanism stops working, your warranty will cover it.
A bonus tip I would add is to go the extra step to fully protect your investment of buying a new mattress by springing a little extra for a mattress protector. Plus, I didn’t know this before, but a stain on your mattress will actually void the manufacturer warranty. I actually found a cooling one at Underpriced Furniture that adjusts to your body temperature, which we might look into getting.
If you’re in the Atlanta metro area, be sure to check out Underpriced Furniture for your furniture needs. They’re located at 6694 Dawson Blvd in Norcross, GA. You can also find them online at www.underpricedfurniture.com.
Also, per our buddy Ed, if you can make it there on a Saturday, you also get a special treat in the form of some fresh baked chocolate chip cookies. 🙂
