As you may have seen on my Saver in the City twitter feed, I’ve recently been appointed a Chick-Fil-A Mom Ambassador. I honestly felt so excited and even honored to be a part of this amazing group of mom bloggers! While I admittedly spend multiple nights or afternoons per week at the drive thru window at my local Chick-Fil-A, our induction to this program was a far more exiting experience!
First, I was honored by such a warm welcome by the location. We had a welcome sign to greet us outside, a lovely table setting and the cutest greeting card ever! We were introduced to their newest grilled (and gluten free) chicken options, which are by far among my favorites! Seriously, I’m still dreaming about their Grilled Chicken Sandwich!
Following our lunch, I got my first ever tour of a fast food kitchen. Now, I can’t speak for all of these, but I was pretty relieved by the level of cleanliness and organization I found back there.
Here are 6 cool facts about Chick-Fil-A I discovered during this visit:
All aprons are color coded by raw and cooked ingredients to prevent contamination. Don’t believe me? Check out our favorite raw foods guy with the yellow apron.
Lemonade is fresh squeezed. Sure every says that because it sounds good…but I have proof!
Slaw (really everything) is fresh made. Again, that’s one of those things that sounds good to say, but I got to see it first hand. Really, the taste alone kind of gives that away for most.
Chick-fil-a only uses name brand ingredients for all products. Not really something you think about, but definitely good to know. I think we were all just expecting the big white jug labeled “MAYO.”
Grilled Food is not really fast. Sounds like a bad thing, but it’s really just a small price to pay for quality food. There’s one big grill in the back and all food is set on a cooking timer, so if you’re ordering something they’re out of, you’ll have to wait a few minutes. When you do get your meal though, they can honestly say it’s hot off the grill!
One last thing I was not aware of, as questioned poured in about the specific ingredients in their products, was the fact that nutrition information can actually be printed up at the counter upon request. This is perfect if you’re dealing with any food allergies!
So, in case you needed another reason to love Chick-fil-A as much as I do, I just gave you 6 more!
