Can I make a confession? 10 years ago, when we bought our house, there was little suspicion that our kitchen would end up being the least used and most well preserved room in the house. I was not much of a cook back then; so the details surrounding which appliances we chose to furnish the kitchen with were minimal.
Fast forward to today – 2 kids, a lifestyle blog, and a domestic bug I must have been bitten by – and I can honestly say I spend at least a 1/3 of my day in my kitchen. We love to cook and create fun meals for the family and are now at a point where having the latest technology and design – and perhaps a complete remodel – is less of a want and more of a need. Can you relate?
Here are 5 signs it’s time to remodel your kitchen:
The design is uninspiring
Who doesn’t want a kitchen that inspires you to create a delectable 5 course meal fit for a royal family? Instead, you have a drab set up that screams hot dogs and potato chips. I’m exaggerating a bit, but you get the point.
The new KitchenAid appliances at Best Buy features the latest in appliance technology from black stainless to built-in appliances, with a professionally inspired design and the perfect balance of elegance and functionality. Since it’s the room you spend so much of your time in, why not create a strong focal point that will be a conversation piece for years to come?
Spacing is grossly inefficient
As I mentioned before, when we bought our home, it was only the 2 of us. Our refrigerator was rarely full and we prepared simple meals for two that rarely required the use of more than 2 appliances at a time. Now, on any given evening, we are scrounging for space to prepare the night’s dinner, the kids lunches, and worse – space to keep it all in the refrigerator.
Another reason to love the new KitchenAid appliances is the fact that their overall efficiency does wonders to combat this issue. As far as refrigeration options, just imagine the following:
- NEW French Door Refrigeration Configuration: More Drawers for More Possibilities. Five Door offers the ultimate in flexibility, organized storage and easier access to food.
- New 36” French Door Bottom Mount Built-in Refrigerator with platinum interior design.
- Luxury fit, feel and finish with soft close pantry drawers, new crispers, platinum interior with undershelf lighting.
Your appliances are outdated
It’s not even so simple as to say that your appliances are considered outdated if they are older than you are. In fact, with so many new advances in technology over the past few years, even the appliances in your 10 year old home can be considered outdated.
Again, the new KitchenAid appliances offer the latest in appliance technology, including all New Slide-In Downdraft Range options in Electric and Dual Fuel for more ways to cook, Even-Heat™ Technology which means flawless results in their wall ovens and ranges, and Exclusive Steam Rack and Steam Bake cooking options are designed for amazing performance.
You entertain more
I truly enjoy entertaining and I’ll admit, my current kitchen does not have the functionality to prepare to entertain with more than a few dishes at a time. That’s why one feature of the new KitchenAid appliances I love is the Baking Drawer, which offers cooking flexibility to keep dishes warm, slow cook or simply bake at a different temperature than the main oven cavity.
The timing is right
Just feeling like you want to remodel your kitchen isn’t always enough. The “saver” in me will always suggest you find the right opportunity both logistically and financially. With that said, Best Buy offers 18 months major appliance financing or 5% rewards and free delivery on purchases $399+, so you can give your kitchen that lovely chef-quality look, only without spending a fortune to get it!

Is it time to remodel your kitchen? What are some features you’d love to have most?
I took on a kitchen remodeling project on a kitchen that has been around since the late 80s…yes it was screaming ‘refurbish me!’ I actually had a fun time doing it! Thanks for sharing your post. It reminded me of that project 🙂
Those signs are on point. It’s better to have spacious kitchen especially when most of the time you and the family gather there. I also love having a clean looking kitchen instead of a bulky, outdated one.
We definitely need to update our kitchen! Out appliances are so outdated and ugly. We need to redo the whole thing!
Thanks for this post. I think our kitchen are was really need to upgrade and our sink was have a leak. Thanks for this tips
My kitchen needs a remodel stat. It’s so small though and we rent so it wouldn’t be worth us to do it. Maybe one day when we own I’ll have my beautiful kitchen!
i dont think i would even remodel our kitchen. we keep on moving house to another country every 3-4 years after living then move again. all i can do is just add some more frames to spice it up flowers and simple things like that
Without a doubt, our kitchen needs updating or remodeling. It’s been like this since the hubs bought the house many years ago. I would love to have that kind of kitchen on the photo. 🙂
I would love to be able to remodel my kitchen. I would like quartz countertops and a glass backsplash.
I think our kitchen will be remodelled after a few years. We’ve just moved into our new home. Thanks for the tips!
Kitchen remodeling is quite a decision to make. With your list above, I know when it must be taken now. Thanks for sharing.
My kitchen has become too old that I need to step-in to do some makeover before it is too late. It is better to get everything fresh as my appliances have become too old & I would look at BestBuy for some great deals.
Yeah, mine is fairly new but I would do a little renovating with bit here and there. But in a couple years I know it will be done but I like to browse around in Best Buy to see what is new. awesome
It sure got my attention when you pointed out that the appliances in the kitchen are considered outdated if they have been around for at least ten years. I guess that is true since I do notice a lot of hi-tech features in newly built homes that look so different from ours. I guess this means it is about time we have the kitchen remodeled and upgraded. Aside from that, I also want to prevent safety hazards. Thank you for sharing.
You’re welcome!
