6 Extremely Easy Green and Eco-Friendly Homemade Kitchen Cleaners

05/27/19 | Green Living & Holistic Health, Tips for Moms

Most of us use a variety of products to help keep our kitchen and appliances clean, but have you ever considered making your own Homemade Kitchen Cleaners? It’s really much easier than you would think and are a much safer option for green and eco-friendly cleaning.   Not to mention how trying these kitchen cleaner hacks can save you a ton of money!

6 Extremely Easy Green and Eco-Friendly Homemade Kitchen Cleaners, including Homemade Stainless Steel Cleaner, How to Clean Your Dishwasher, Homemade Dishwasher Detergent, Homemade Wood Floor Cleaner, Homemade Pine Sol, and how to Steam Clean Your Microwave.

1. Homemade Stainless Steel Cleaner

Mix together 2 cups of hot water, 1/2 cup white vinegar and 2 tbsp of baking soda into a spray bottle. Be sure to let the foaming subside before you put on the lid.

2. How to Clean Your Dishwasher

Fill a dishwasher-safe cup with white vinegar and place it on the top rack of the dishwasher.  Run the dishwasher through a cycle using the hottest cycle available.

3. Homemade Dishwasher Detergent

For this homemade kitchen cleaner, mix together 2 parts borax, 2 parts washing soda, 1 part citric acid, 1 part salt and store in an air tight container. Use 1 tablespoon per load of dishes.

4. Homemade Wood Floor Cleaner

You can make your own Wood Floor Cleaner by combining 1/8 cup mild dish detergent and 1/2 cup vinegar.

5. Homemade Pine Sol

Mix together 3 cups hot water, 1/3 cup lemon juice, 4 Tbs Baking Soda and 3 Tbs liquid dish soap until everything is dissolved. Then add 5 drops tea tree oil and mix well.

6. Steam Clean Your Microwave

Clean your microwave easily, and without chemicals. To do this just fill a microwavable cup or bowl with white vinegar, place it inside the microwave and set the timer for 2 minutes. Once the time is up, the steam from the vinegar will have loosened all of the grime and dirt from the microwave and it will be easy to just wipe clean.

These are just some of my go-to homemade kitchen cleaners, but there are plenty more easy and non-toxic ways to keep your kitchen clean.
