A Night with the Marvel Stars at the Avengers: Infinity War Red Carpet Premiere in Hollywood

Now, while I thought I’d said this about the Black Panther Premiere a few months ago, but The Avengers: Infinity War Red Carpet Premiere was truly the who’s who of Hollywood talent all in one place for the night! The film was 10 years in the making and the entire ambiance of the evening was truly an homage to each of the Marvel characters who have helped bring the franchise to this magical moment.

What does one wear to a red carpet premiere?  To one of the biggest red carpets of the year at that?  At every single red carpet I’ve gone to, I’m always at a loss for finding the perfect red carpet dress and for this one, I was also at a loss for time and knew that getting a custom dress made and fitted would be nearly impossible.  So, I actually rented my dress from a designer dress rental company called Rent the Runway, chose from a few styles that I loved and had 3 dress choices sent to directly to my hotel.  The process was seamless and as for the final look…

The Infinity War Red Carpet Experience

As seems to be true of several red carpets I’ve attended, the red carpet was not red.  It was the same royal purple as the Black Panther Premiere.  What was truly unique about this carpet, however, was the elaborate display of costumes, props, and other imagery from each and every Marvel franchise film.  We spent so much time just admiring all of them and feeling grateful that the ushers for once were not rushing the experience:

As I said, it was truly a who’s who of the Marvel Cinematic Universe and of Hollywood in general, with more than 65 Marvel characters in the film, it was inevitable that we’d get to see them on the red carpet. Here are some of our favorites…

The Avengers: Infinity War Movie Premiere

After having the most amazing experience on the red (I mean, purple) carpet, we all gathered into the Dolby Theatre (same theatre as the Oscars are filmed) to watch the highly anticipated Avengers: Infinity War.  It’s such a special experience watching it with the stars and crew of the film who are also seeing it for the first time.

It started out with the entire cast taking the stage and cheers as loud as you can imagine.   Robert Downey Jr. gave a heartfelt speech talking about how much the MCU has evolved and introduced some of the most important storylines and characters, even giving a hint to a new “Captain” who will be coming soon…and “She is Marvelous” 🙂

And then we watched the film…

I really can’t tell you guys much about the film because Thanos Demands Your Silence, but you can read this spoiler-free review of Avengers: Infinity War to give you an idea of the emotions this film evoked out of me and pretty much the entire theater. So much emotion, in fact, that a certain star of the film actually walked out of the theater briefly after one of the more emotional scenes.  (can’t tell you who it was yet).  From the gasps to the stunned 5 minutes or so after the film we remained in our seats waiting for the final credit scene, this film, like the entire red carpet walk, was truly an experience! 

The Avengers: Infinity War After Party

For the first time ever, we got to attend the official Marvel after-party!  This portion of the night is extremely, extremely exclusive and OMG can I just tell you guys, I felt like a star for just being able to get this coveted wristband in the first place.  I saw stars like Angela Bassett, Chadwick Boseman, Don Cheadle, Tom Hiddleston, Zoe Saldana, Paul Rudd, just to name a few.  One of the best moments I had that night was actually with Winston Duke’s mom! She pretended to remember meeting us during our interview with Winston Duke in January, but either way, she was just the kindest, sweetest woman. I almost forgot I was talking to the mother of one of the biggest stars from a movie and felt like I’d just run into one of my aunties.

I didn’t get a lot of one-on-one photos of the stars that night because it was truly a time to celebrate the success of the film and live their best lives.  I did get to personally congratulate many of them and enjoy myself at the party, which was me living my best life.   If you follow me on Instagram, I shared some footage of the party in my Instastories the other day and I’ve added those to my featured stories for those of you who missed them.  It was truly a night to remember!
